ESP® significantly reduces the number of road fatalities and injuries and makes an important contribution towards road safety. This is the conclusion drawn from numerous international studies undertaken by leading automobile manufacturers and safety authorities to assess the effectiveness of ESP®.

Accidentology shows that at least 40 percent of all fatal road accidents are caused by skidding. ESP® can reduce skidding by up to 80 percent of all skid accidents. A macro-economic analysis by the University of Cologne in 2007 shows that in Europe alone 4,000 lives could be saved and 100,000 injuries avoided if all vehicles had ESP®.

In June 2007 the UK Department for Transport published the effectiveness of ESP® on British roads study which concluded that vehicles equipped with ESP® are 25 percent less likely to be involved in a fatal accident than those without it. It concluded that if every vehicle were fitted with ESP® – 380 lives could be saved and 7,800 accidents avoided each year. Nearly one third of all road traffic accidents involve someone who is driving for work costing UK business almost 2.7bn pounds. ESP® can save lives and money!
