Accelerating without wheel slip with TCS

Just as wheels should not block when braking, in order to ensure vehicle directional stability, driving off and accelerating should not cause wheel spin.

The Traction Control System TCS from Bosch prevents the wheels spinning. It takes care of good traction and ensures vehicle stability and steerability when driving off and accelerating.

Wheel-speed sensors continually monitor each wheel separately. TCS analyses the signals and recognizes immediately when a wheel threatens to spin. In this situation, TCS is activated and controls the drive torque of the powered wheels. This electronic wheel-spin control system brakes wheels individually and intervenes in the engine management system.
